[question] Paleo recipes that are also vegetarian (and ideally raw)?

The girl I’m dating is vegetarian and has a sweet tooth, I have celiac disease and eat a diet primarily of protein but too much fruit to qualify as keto. We both love cheese, eggs, and vegetables, but otherwise, it’s pretty much Jane Sprat & spouse over here. I want to make something special for my birthday next week that she can also eat, some kind of raw ‘cake/pie’ would be awesome but savory is good too. Any favorites or links to resources? If it’s not gluten-free or raw but otherwise qualifies, no worries, I’ve got all the flour replacements and can substitute them out myself. submitted by /u/PeterPinkPuss [link] [comments] from paleo diet https://ift.tt/30QkJuu via IFTTT

Throwing it back to this epic dinner I shared on my stories earlier this week 👉🏻👉🏻 one crispified @mikeys paleo (gifted) tortilla - just toasted on a skillet until crunchy 🤯 - with black beans, veggies and nacho-stuffed zucchini boats filled with my homemade #vegancheese sauce 😍. With how innnsanne my schedule is right now (going to grad school, finishing my thesis, teaching English 103, working another job and blogging 😬😬), I don’t have time to make these kind of more time intensive meals as often…but it tastes just as good deconstructed 🥦🥒🥬 and just eaten as roasted veggies with cheese sauce drizzled over 😉. Find the cheese sauce recipe #ontheblog and more info about Mikey’s products on their page 💕! [Discussion] Motivate me, point me in the right direction

I’m not sure who all this has happened to before. But I just cannot get traction and good habits going with Paleo. History: 2010-2011 did Paleo at about 70% level. Lost approx 40 lbs from 285 to 245. In this time period everything improved my mental health was the biggest win…anxiety issues, lightheaded feelings, mood swings. All that was nearly improved 100%. Also just my drive for getting stuff done and life was better. Then I fell off the bandwagon slowly…and for goodness sake I cannot get back on. I’m back to square one 285 lbs again, mood swings. Anxiety/stress intolerance issues. Stress and tension all over. Gut doesn’t love me…My 2x shirts are starting to get tight around my belly at 5'11" 285. I’m generally unenthusiastic and worried alot. Generally because I am either dealing with headaches, allergy issues, or pain in general. This morning I took a walk and it was the icing on the cake. I literally got passed by a jogger, a jogger who could be my great grandmothe

[Discussion] Artificial Sweeteners and Their Impact on Health

Hello everyone! I’ve been strictly adhering to paleo principles for the myriad of reasons that we all know and love since 2017 and they helped me lose 100 pounds in about a year and help my mom over this past year lose 140. She takes my advice to the bullet but really likes these Jordan’s Zero Calorie Skinny Syrups in her coffee. Now I drink black tea over coffee since coffee bugs my stomach, but I’d like to have a better answer than “I heard it bugs your gut microbiome out so I’m gonna avoid it” to tell her. The main sweetener they use is Sucralose, but I’d love if someone could give me some beefy scientific answer/article to read because I haven’t been able to find a really good paleo perspective/scientific analysis of why Artificial sweaters are bad for you. submitted by /u/CaptainMurphySealab [link] [comments] from paleo diet https://ift.tt/2Zzc2Dj via IFTTT

[Discussion]Bolthouse Dressings Rant

Someone recommended Bolthouse to me when I was asking about dressings made from healthy oils. Well, not only is Bolthouse dressing made primarily from unhealthy soybean oil, it is also very expensive. This recommendation came via reddit but it wasn’t from the paleo subred. I think the person was confused because one of their dressings contains “avocado” in the name. It has avocado in it, but is not made with the oil of avocado. It’s a soy dressing just like Kraft. submitted by /u/Jay-jay1 [link] [comments] from paleo diet https://ift.tt/3488BH6 via IFTTT

It’s been two years since I first walked onto my new college campus as a grad student 👩🏻‍🎓👩🏻‍🎓…and I’m not gonna lie. My first year was HARD. I even remember wondering if I had what it took to survive grad school 😅. And while those days still happen now, especially with this semester’s crazy workload 🤪…I’m enjoying myself (nerves and all!) while teaching my third year of Intro to Composition classes and am 60,000 words deep into my thesis 🤯🤯. The first few days of this semester have been INSANELY busy with both expected and unexpected challenges, and I honestly feel like this will be the most demanding semester yet 😵. But I’m so proud of all I’ve accomplished so far…and can’t wait to see what happens next ✨. If I’m a bit quieter on here or my blog, though, just assume I’m twenty pages deep into some dense composition theory reading 😅😅. What’s one thing you’re proud of lately? [Question] Fake olive oil?

I consume olive oil every day with my salads, but I have come across some information online that some huge percentage of EVOO sold in stores is fake. The claim is that they are cut with cheaper vegetable oils. It would be a huge shame if I were consuming the oils I’ve cut out since choosing a Paleo diet. [Question] Writing a cookbook

I’m in the process of writing a Paleo cookbook (not because it may be viewed as a fad diet, but because I have to eat this way. I have Celiac and I’m lactose intolerant), and I was curious if you all think I may get a lot of flak if I include a small section on different ways to prepare fried rice. I went to culinary school, studied in France under a Michelin star chef, and was the executive chef at a few restaurants. I believe I have a lot to offer as far as cooking advice, but on the other hand don’t want to p*** off the general Paleo community by incorporating rice. [Discussion] I'm starting Paleo and I would love some advice

Hey y'all, I’ve researched a good bit about Paleo. I’ve read the FAQs and done my fair share of googling but I wanted to get some real advice from you guys. I’ve done keto before for about 2 9 month stretches. First time around, I lost 60 lbs and felt great about it. The second time through however, I got complacent and would cheat more frequently. I didn’t gain or lose any weight. I feel like Paleo is going to give me less restriction in my diet. My goal is still to lose weight. I don’t plan on doing strict Paleo because I cannot live without cheese. I absolutely love it and I can’t see myself giving it up. I also want to begin working out, something I felt like I couldn’t do on Keto because of the decrease in performance due to lack of carbs. So, here I am. I want any and all advice from y'all. Stories, dos and don'ts, workout plans, links, anything is appreciated. Thanks guys! submitted by /u/b_dubz_ [link] [comments] from paleo diet https://ift.tt/2U4gjO0 via IF

I’m days away from starting my last year of grad school (#AD), and I have a feeling that this epic BLZ (beet, lettuce and zucchini 😏😏) sandwich is gonna make several appearances in my lunch box 🛍. Plus, their bread is seriously some of the lightest, fluffiest gluten free bread I’ve ever tasted 🤯🤯 - and I love the crunch from the added seeds and grains in this flavor! To make my BLZ sandwich, I mashed some rinsed canned chickpeas with a bit of beetroot powder 💕and lemon, and slathered that purée on one slice. Then, I added some lettuce, steamed zucchini coins 🥒 and broiled purple cabbage, and enjoyed a handful of green grapes on the side 😍. Simple, full of plant based protein and delicious. Unwillingly losing weight [Question]

Hi all, I’m not sure wheter this is the right place to ask this question, but I do not know anymore where to find answers. Since about four weeks, I’ve been suggested a paleo-like diet to help me with IBS problems, hormone regulations problems and nutritional problems. I’ve asked my doctor about risks of losing weight, since I used to eat quite a lot while barely maintaining a healthy weight (as in, almost underweight but managed to stay above that line for about four years). She told me not to worry, but then went on a holiday and I’m stuck with a diet and rapidly losing weight, about a pound a week. Do any of you have experience with this and know if this will normalise after a while, or do you have any suggestions about things I can eat in order to at least remain stable, but rather gain weight? I’m not sure if it’s exactly like a paleo diet, but this is what I’m eating on average throughout the day - Breakfast: Banana pancakes (two bananas, one egg), three pieces of fruit - Lun

[Question] Study of Paleo Diet Effect on Children?

Does anyone know of any long term studies studying the effects of the paleo diet on children? Or just a diet low on carbs and sugar really. I would be interested to see if a children’s diet low in carbs and sugar would increase their growth rate or perhaps maybe even slow their growth rates. I know the Paleo diet works well in fully grown adults- but children seem to crave sugar and carbs heavily, bodily cravings usually mean that is something your body wants like during pregnancy- for a child to grow up with no added sugar or carbs would that help or hurt a child? Honestly not sure where to post this. I’ve searched communities and YouTube for recipes and haven’t found a thing. I went autoimmune protocol, and now I’m sort of on a keto/Paleo diet. I can’t make ice cream with dairy and I’m not sure about egg for a custard, the last time I had eggs I felt funny. On AIP I ate Paleo carbs, but I didn’t like the way I felt after them. I’m especially not happy with the way I digested honey (constant farts). I have incorporated artificial sweeteners and stevia and have been totally fine with that. A few days ago I took thickened coconut milk (almost as thick as coconut cream) and blended it with strawberries and artificial sweeteners, then put it in an ice cream maker. Of course when it was done it was like a gorgeous soft serve…..and then turned into a hunk of ice in the freezer. (Btw great popsicle recipe though) I’ve incorporated nuts without problem, so I would be willing to try a recipe with cashew milk, but I love that rich coconutty flavor, a

[Question] Anybody here consume A2 milk?

I’ve got some questions regarding if I should worry about A1 casein proteins in butter or heavy cream. I don’t know if I’m actually allergic to it or not, but I’d like to test it out by avoiding all dairy for a few weeks and then reintroducing it in the A2 form. However, A2 butter and cream are rather expensive. Should I be worried about the A1 casein proteins in pastured heavy cream or grass fed butter (I usually get French or Icelandic)? submitted by /u/CollegeKidLoser [link] [comments] from paleo diet https://ift.tt/2ZYXIoM via IFTTT
