Eating carbs makes me wake up at 4am. Does anyone know anything about this?

If I eat too much sugar/carbohydrate in the evening I reliably wake up a few hours before I want to. I’ve searched around the internet but can’t find anything about what’s happening in my body, and I haven’t encountered anyone else that experiences this. Does this happen to anyone else? Can someone point me towards learning more about this?
