[question] Can eating too much protein lead to constipation?

I have been eating lots of animal protein over the last few weeks, mainly chicken, sometimes beef. There were times I could eat ½ of a whole chicken (breast, wings and legs) paired with rice and veggies at one sitting. I know, that is a lot, so I decided to cut down my protein intake several days ago and limit myself to 1 chicken breast a day. I eat lots of vegetables, but can a diet high in protein, at least compared to what I was eating before, result in bowel motility issues? I started eating chia seeds and prunes yesterday hoping maybe they would bring some relief. I would be glad to hear your personal stories if someone has some. Thanks!
