Pemmican - very negative experience. Please advise!

I bought 3 kilos of Pemmican from US Wellness Meats. It arrived perfectly packaged and frozen - that is fine… However, the texture of the product is very weird. It feels like a finely minced BOILED meet mixed with fat. It is my understanding that the meat should be dried to crispiness so it’s hard and then crumbled.I need this pemican to last through 5-7 days of travel in 80/90 degrees temp. But looking at this product, I am 100% sure that it will go bad in a day or less as the meat is clearly boiled and minced , not dried and crumbled. Moreover, the US Wellness recommends to keep it frozen.Has anyone purchased Pemmican from US Wellness and can advise ? Thanks!​​
